What is the ENEC mark?
Previous   Next

The ENEC mark is an approval mark used by European manufacturers only, similar to the HAR mark. The ENEC mark simplifies the approval process for European manufacturers. Through the ENEC process, the manufacturer has only to do testing with one agency. This saves time and money.

With the ENEC mark, submission and testing is done by one of the member agencies. That agency then issues a certificate of approval. The manufacturer then applies the ENEC mark with the agency’s designated number. The number associated with the ENEC mark identifies the approval agency granting approval. The other ENEC members recognize the approval.

To maintain consistency, testing is done to EN standards. These EN standards are accepted by the member nations as the testing and safety standards for their nations.
