Major International Testing Agencies – CQC
In continuation of our series of international testing agencies, we will be discussing the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) .
What is the CQC?
CQC, China Quality Certification Centre is the professional certification body of China, headquartered in Beijing.
History:
The CQC is the largest certification body in China. It was established in the spring of 2002 after merging six institutions under five ministries. Another restructuring program started and in 2007 the CQC became a certification platform for China Certification and Inspection Group (CCIC).
Primary Goals & Activities
The main business for the CQC is certification, specifically of their China Compulsory Certification (CCC) mark.
On their website they state, “Dedicated to promote the economic and social development of China, CQC is now heading towards the goal of becoming an international certification body with high social credibility,strong innovation capability, market competitiveness, and sustainable development capability.”
