Molding Supervisor

Interpower Corporation is currently seeking a team-oriented candidate for a full-time Molding Supervisor for its 1st shift in its Oskaloosa manufacturing facility.

First Shift Typically Works:
Monday – Friday, with hours from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Overtime if required by department.

Candidates Should Possess:

Previous experience in a leadership role, outstanding communication skills, commitment to continuous improvement, successful work history, and a strong work ethic.

Educational requirements include a four year college degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Production Management, or a related field; or equivalent manufacturing experience

Responsibilities Include, but are Not Limited to:

Prioritizes Scheduled Work Orders for the Molding Area and Maintains the Capacity to Meet Production Requirements so that Customers are Delighted with the Service they Receive

  • Schedules hours weekly as needed giving notice for mandatory overtime by Wednesday of the previous week
  • Actively participates and is aware of hiring needs
  • Works with scheduler to complete all orders by due dates
  • Has extra capacity to respond to rush orders

Leads, Coaches, and Develops Other Employees in a Manner that Upgrades Their Skills and Ability

  • Finds opportunities for subordinates and rotates them through so everyone gets a chance, e.g. cycle count samples, new machines, ect.
  • Performs performance evaluations on time and in a way that gives guidance to the person so they know what they have to do to get the next higher rating.
  • Finds ways to develop employees if they are interested in other opportunities within the company.
  • Works with the Employee Development Manager to monitor, maintain, and update the Skill and Knowledge Compensation Plan for the department
  • Ensures all employees are thoroughly trained according to training guidelines prior to performing the tasks
  • Proactively addresses personnel issues in an efforts to create a team environment and keeps VP Manufacturing & Logistics informed of such issues    

Continuously Improve All Molding Operations.

  • Improves appearance of Molding area, e.g. floor, tables, chairs, housekeeping
  • Improves floor layout
  • Researches raw materials and equipment for better options
  • Researches operations for faster, safer ways of operations
  • Looks for ways to increase capacity
  • Takes preventative and corrective actions when customers are not delighted
